A message from our CEO

When I look at the way businesses trade, one principle stands out: value does not always have to move through cash.

BARTER BUREAU® was established on a simple conviction — that businesses should have another practical way to create value from what they already have, meet their needs, and pursue new trading opportunities beyond conventional cash transactions.

Our purpose is to bring the traditional concept of barter into a modern business environment through a structured trade exchange network, professional trade brokerage, and a dedicated trade management system designed to make business barter more practical, organized, and accessible.

Our commitment is to make barter a credible business tool for modern commerce and to foster a growing business community where businesses can trade, connect, and create value beyond cash.

Our Social Impact

BARTER BUREAU® seeks to extend the value of barter beyond commercial exchange by creating opportunities for charities and nonprofit organizations to participate in the trade network. Through donated Trade Pounds, participating organizations can obtain goods and services that support their activities, while businesses can contribute Trade Pounds to causes and initiatives they wish to support.

Our Code of Ethics establishes the fundamental standards that guide professional conduct and decision-making at BARTER BUREAU®. It reflects our commitment to ethical business practices, accountability, transparency, and respect for the rights and interests of all parties within our trade exchange network.

  • We uphold fair-trading principles and conduct transactions responsibly, transparently, and in accordance with applicable standards.

  • We communicate the benefits and workings of barter clearly to build informed understanding within and beyond the BARTER BUREAU® network.

  • We perform our responsibilities with due skill, care, diligence, and sound professional judgment in all relevant activities.

  • We protect confidential information entrusted to us and use or disclose it only for legitimate and authorized purposes.

  • We respect the intellectual property rights of others and use protected materials only with appropriate authorization.

BARTER BUREAU® has established its Fully Integrated Business Management System around a digital framework designed to support its trade network and business operations. This framework brings together the company official website, business systems, operational tools, and supporting resources intended to support member management, Trade Accounts, the business directory, payments, and related business processes.
